A general rule of construction in interpreting the language contained in a contract is that any ambiguities in a contract are construed against the drafter of the contract. Therefore, the words used in a contract should be very clear and not ambiguous, or the drafter of the contract runs the risk of losing a lawsuit if the wording is equivocal and, therefore, subject to more than one interpretation.
